The Black Arts and Cultural Center is led by executive director
Sid Ellis who took the helm of the organization in the spring of 2008. He seeks to continue the BACC goal of reaching out to partner with arts organizations throughout the state to create a network which would allow the BACC to become a premiere resource and outlet for creative ventures which highlight the culture and art as it relates to the African Diaspora.
He brings to the organization years of knowledge in the fields of theater, film production and youth programming. Ellis is a graduate of Cass Technological High School in Detroit. He came to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University in 1981, and has made the city his home. He has a B.A. in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University. His greatest joys are his wife, Renita, and sons Sidney and Quincy. |
